leadership - Is it an advantage or necessity?

Leadership never really came into my thought when i started my adult life working as i have been having one of my worst experience in leading. In my past, i learn that by taking initiative, i make a mistake and end up being screw badly by the boss.

However, my current job teach me another important factor about leadership. Yes there are times, when a person lead, others will say that person a dictator, arrogant, bossy, demanding and so on especially if the person do not know the right way to communicate with others. However, i learn that it is better to actually lead than don't lead out of fear because things will actually get even more complicated and complex if you don't.

Although leadership skill is an advantage for those who know how to do it well at this moment. It will become a necessity soon for anyone who actually wanted to be promote higher in position. So it is either "you do and will damn by people, you don't do also will be damned by people". Therefore i choose to do because i can learn more even if i damned by people.
