“Tadyate Om Berkandze Berkandze Maha Berkandze Radza Samung Gate Soha”

I don’t remember how exactly I actually encounter the medicine Buddha or came to know about it. Perhaps it come on the time after I have fallen deeply in love with dzi beads which out of my curiosity that I venture into a deeper knowledge of where does the dzi bead come from, types, effects and everything about it. However there is one thing I do remember after I start keep hearing it. My country starts to rain a lot since I start to practice it regularly. Although my country used to have raining season, however due to the extreme climate change, we feel hot and dry all the time. Perhaps that is why I like to listen to it, Medicine Buddha not only bring better health, help people reaching enlightment. There is a quote said that “If one meditate on the Medicine Buddha, one will eventually attain enlightment, but in the meantime one will experience an increase in healing power both for oneself and others and a decrease in physical and mental illness and suffering”.

It is said that when Medicine Buddha attained supreme enlightment he make 12 vows:
1. All sentients will be like him , have 32 marks of greatness and 8 Auspicios characteristics
2. The light coming from medicine Buddha will awaken the minds of those in darkness, help them to pursuit their wishes
3. Medicine Buddha will help sentient being by provide goods to meet their material needs. They will never want for anything.
4. Medicine Buddha will help correct those in the wrong way to go to the right path and reach enlightment.
5. Medicine Buddha will help those observe the rule of conduct (precepts) to perfection and help them avoid from falling into evil path.
6. Those who have imperfect bodies or unhealthy bodies with various illness will , when hear his name will get well formed body with intelligenase with all senses intact. They will be free of illness and suffering.
7. Those who have various illness without any help as soon as hear his name will be relieved from all illness. They will enjoy home, family and property in abundance.
8. Those female who hear upon the name of medicine Buddha who extremely do not like their female form will be reborn as a man. They will have noble features nd realize unsurpass Supreme enlightment.
9. Medicine Buddha will lead those who had wrong view to the right one, free them from the demon net and swiftly help them realize perfect enlightment.
10. Those who are condemned to death, beaten , imprisoned and so on , when hear Buddha name , will be free from it .
11. Those who are torment by hunger and thirst to the point of creating evil karma for survival, those who are able to recite the name of medicine Buddha, will satisfy them with the best food and drinks feeling. Through the dharma, medicine Buddha will help them reach the realm of peace and happiness.
12. Those who are lacking cloths to protect themselves from flies, mosquitoes, days and nights, if they recite medicine Buddha name and hold fast to it, their wish will be fulfilled. They will receive clothes and able enjoy music to their heart content
