was it or was it not?

There are certain people (person A for example) in this world that wanted to do something, but instead they are offer for another thing else. And at the same time, someone (peron b) else want to do something the offer (person a got) for but got the person most wanted thing (person A want most). On the other hand there are people who want to do something but do not suceed in getting what they want no matter how hard they try again and again.

Was it a mere fate or predestiny ? Or was it a result from self effort or self limit belief? I know people who are more sucessful than me and some also who seem to have bright future. Yet, they also met such situation that what they want they may not necessary get it. Was there a lesson behind this or was it our own self limit thought that limit ourself? I begin to wonder what is so mysterious about this life and the thing that are happening. Perhaps there are something that we are suppose to learn from it.
